Can the meaning of a blank tile in Scrabble be changed?
No. Officially, once the piece is laid down on the board the letter
it represents remains until the end of the game. However, some people
enjoy playing an unofficial Scrabble variation where a player may pick
up a blank tile from the board for future use. This is only done if
he or she can replace it with the actual letter it represents.
